Patrick Barfoot

I’m drawn to stories about compelling people, Canadian regional history, visual arts, and experimental film. My documentary work has appeared on Bell Fibe TV, TVO, and CBC, and screened at festivals in Canada and internationally.

I’ve worked across documentary production and editing. My films include Jaan Poldaas: New Work, The Constant Refugee, Happy Excited Wonder, and Building a Dream. I’ve also edited work that screened at Hot Docs and Sheffield Doc/Fest.

As an instructor, I developed Humber College’s first documentary post-production course using Adobe Premiere Pro. I’ve taught documentary post-production at Wilfrid Laurier University and guest lectured at Western University.

I was a founding member of Babel Collective, a five-person Toronto experimental filmmaking collective.
